About the team We build and operate Stripe's Event Infrastructure—the reliable, low-latency backbone that captures, routes, and persists billions of events daily. We design resilient, scalable systems for real-time ingestion, filtering, transformation, and high-throughput delivery to downstream consumers. We prioritize observability, backpressure control, and graceful degradation to keep payments and platform features running under any load. By automating operations and iterating on capacity and cost optimizations, we enable product teams to build on a predictable event-streaming foundation. What you'll do As an Engineering Manager in the infrastructure organization, you're expected to see problems others don't and rally people to independently create solutions. You'll move beyond day-to-day management to act as an industry leader, effectively advocating for your organization's mission, values, and impact. • Architect the Org and Culture—Design and scale a high-leverage org structure. You'll define what "Elite Engineering" looks like, setting the bar for craftsmanship and operational rigor, serving as a blueprint for Stripe infrastructure • Vision and Strategy—Define the scope, vision, and goals for your organization with little or no guidance from your manager.
