Information Security Counsel (Commercial Contracts) Commercial Legal Team • Location: London, UK We're looking for an Information Security Counsel/Contracts Manager who can move between the technical world of cybersecurity and the nuances of legal compliance. As a vital part of our fast-paced Commercial Legal Team, you'll be a key collaborator in the deal cycle. Your mission? Translate our technical security posture into signed agreements and ensure customer requirements are scalable and well-vetted. If you live for the intersection of complex legal frameworks, cybersecurity, and AI, this is your next move. This role is open to qualified lawyers and experienced contracts managers alike — we care more about what you know than what you're called. The Mission Negotiate & Close: Draft and negotiate complex technology agreements with major enterprise customers across the UK and EMEA — including highly regulated sectors such as financial services, serving as the lead voice on security terms. Bridge the Gap: Partner cross-functionally with Sales, InfoSec, Product Engineering, and Product Legal to align commercial goals with technical realities. Advise & Protect: Provide frontline legal guidance on security and contractual risk for standard matters, partnering with senior counsel on complex regulatory questions and novel issues. Know the Product: Develop a deep understanding of Rubrik's platform to effectively represent our security posture in customer negotiations and internal product discussions. The Ideal Profile You are a self-driven professional who balances sharp business judgement with deep technical literacy. You don't just spot risks—you provide solutions. Education & Qualification: Degree-level education required. Qualification as a solicitor (or equivalent legal qualification in an EMEA jurisdiction) is preferred; what matters is demonstrated fluency in contract language and the ability to negotiate complex agreements. Experience: 4–7 years' in-house experience (approximately 3–6 years PQE) in contract management or as legal counsel, or equivalent private-practice experience in technology transactions, specifically negotiating the technical aspects of enterpr ise software and cloud licensing agreements. Working knowledge of UK and European regulatory frameworks (UK GDPR/GDPR, DORA, EU AI Act, EBA guidelines) is highly valued given our growing EMEA customer base. Security Fluent: You are proficient in the data security issues faced by technology companies and industry compliance standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, etc.).
